About Tradier
Tradier is a US brokerage designed from the ground up as a platform for developers and trading apps. Its brokerage API offers equities, ETFs and a strong options offering, with subscription plans that remove per-trade commissions for active traders.
AutoTrader connects to Tradier using your API access token and account number. Strategies can then trade US stocks and ETFs in your Tradier account, and the Tradier sandbox gives you a free simulated environment to validate a strategy before it touches real money.

Trading Tradier: costs and where it's available
Fees and account types
Tradier's pricing is plan-based. Stock and ETF trades are commission-free, while options are charged per contract on the basic plan; Tradier also offers monthly subscription plans that remove most per-contract options commissions for active traders. Because AutoTrader trades stocks and ETFs, the subscription mainly matters if you also trade options manually in the same account. Tradier offers individual, joint, IRA and entity accounts. The sandbox is free to use and does not require a funded account, which makes it easy to trial strategies before opening or funding a live account.
Availability and regulation
Tradier Brokerage is a US broker-dealer and a member of FINRA and SIPC. Its service is aimed mainly at US residents, and while some non-US applicants have been accepted, international availability is limited and depends on country and documentation. If you live outside the US, confirm eligibility with Tradier before relying on it for automated trading, and remember that it offers access to US markets only.

How to connect Tradier to AutoTrader

Log in to your Tradier brokerage account and open the API access section of your account settings, where Tradier lists your production access token.

Generate or copy the production access token. It acts as a bearer token for the whole account, so store it somewhere safe and never share it publicly.

Find your Tradier account number in the account overview; AutoTrader needs it to route orders to the correct account.

For paper testing, register for Tradier's developer sandbox, which issues a separate sandbox token and sandbox account number that only work against the simulated environment.

Where do I find my Tradier API access token?
Log in to your Tradier account and open the API access area of the settings, where your production token is shown or can be generated. Sandbox tokens come from a separate developer sandbox registration. In AutoTrader, paste the token as the API key and your Tradier account number as the secret.
Is the Tradier sandbox the same as live trading?
It uses the same API format, so a strategy that works in the sandbox will send the same orders in production. The main differences are that sandbox market data is delayed and fills are simulated, so prices and execution may not match a live account.
